The Pride of Cork Awards is hosted by Cork Civic Life  – a not for profit organisation dedicated to promoting the work of 3,000 voluntary, social, charitable and not for profit organisations
This year’s Pride of Cork Awards was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel & Spa in Cork on Sunday 19th October 2025. This award recognises the outstanding contributions of individuals and organisations, bridging the gap between voluntary, social, civic, charitable, and not-for-profit organisations, and Cork citizens.
This year, the Cathaoirleach of Seanad Éireann, Senator Jerry Buttimer, is the Guest of Honour. 
 
Michael Mulcahy, Cork Civic Life chairman, says: 
“The Pride of Cork Awards embodies the spirit of honour and celebration, paying tribute to these exceptional individuals and organisations that stand as The Pride of Cork. It is an opportunity to showcase the incredible impact they have on the community, and to express our heartfelt gratitude for their selfless dedication.”
 
Cónal Creedon received the Pride of Cork Award in recognition of his literary, film and theatrical creations that have toured the world from Ireland to China and the USA – yet his creative practice is inspired by what he describes as The Spaghetti Bowl of streets in downtown Cork City where he and his family lived and traded for generations.
 
Cónal’s international recognition includes –In 2024, Cónal became the first Irish artist to receive the prestigious Leonardo da Vinci World Award of Arts 2024 [The World Cultural Council, Switzerland]. He was subsequently invited to present the 70th anniversary Beatty Lecture 2024 at McGill University, Montreal, Canada – where he was introduced by Professor Omar Yaghi of Berkeley University [Nobel Prize for Chemistry]. 
Other recent awards include – The Princess Grace Monaco Award 2025 [Princess Grace Library, Monaco], Laoch Racaire 2025 [Féile na Laoch], Irish American Books, Arts and Music Award 2024 [American Irish Heritage Centre Chicago, USA] – (previous awardees include John B Keane, Frank McCourt, Maeve Binchy), CAP Award 2024 [Dublin, Ireland], IP Gold Award 2023 [USA], One City One Book 2022 [Ireland], Lord Mayor’s Culture Award 2020 [Cork Ireland], Eric Hoffer Award 2020 [USA]
