Twenty nine years ago today, this man’s life changed forever. Jim Mullen, a Chicago Police Officer, was responding to a call of shots fired when he was struck in the face with a bullet, rendering him a ventilator dependent quadriplegic.
Jim never stopped living after that terrible night.
Jim’s thoughtfulness and concern for others is simply remarkable. His laughter, smile and generosity are beyond comparison. His strength and bravery are admirable. His love for his family, friends, fellow police officers and even total strangers is unparalleled.
This man is the very definition of a hero.
Jim, I’m very grateful for your calls to check on me, your advice and our visits. I am so lucky to have you apart of my life. I am truly honored. Thank you for being you. Those of us fortunate enough to know you treasure your friendship.
