Returning to where it all began, Vicki Quade and Nuns4Fun Entertainment announce the return of their religious comedies to the same theater space where the most successful solo-religious comedy in Chicago history started.
Late Nite Catechism, co-written by Vicki Quade, opened in 1993 at the old Live Bait Theater, and that space is now occupied by the Stars & Garters Theater, 3914 N. Clark St., Chicago.
Now Quade is opening her newest comedy, Late Nite Catechism Trivia Bingo, at Stars & Garters Theater, and it promises to have you laughing your sins off. The show opens for 3 Sunday matinees in Sept., as part of the Nuns4Fun Late Nite Catechism series
Audiences are loving this new show. “It was great and so terrific to laugh so hard!” says Kate Mini, who attended the premiere last May. “We absolutely adored everything. The show, & audience, all so much fun,” says Judy Rossignuolo-Rice, legendary Chicago actress.
Quade is bringing her hit Halloween show, Holy Ghost Bingo: God, Goblins, & Games, to Stars & Garters, for 44 Sunday matinee performances in October.
The premise is that Mrs. Mary Margaret O’Brien, a former nun, is here tonight to raise money while playing bingo and talking about Halloween traditions, scary movies, condemned board games, haunted churches, the best candy, and the worst costumes. It’s a crazy night of Halloween trivia, audience interaction, and the funniest costume contest ever seen.
Late Nite Catechism Trivia Bingo will run 2 p.m., Sundays, September 13, 20, 27.
Holy Ghost Bingo: God, Goblins, & Games runs 2 p.m., Sundays, October 4, 11, 1, 25.
Tickets are available at https://www.starsandgarterstheater.com. A small # of discount tickets are also available on HotTix.
In addition to comedy, stand-up, and other entertainment, Stars & Garters also features evening burlesque shows.
“So,” Quade says, “come for the sin, stay for the salvation.”
