Compass Records is re-issuing Simple Pleasures, Alison Brown’s GRAMMY-nominated debut solo album, produced by David Grisman and featuring Alison Krauss, Mike Marshall, Matt Eakle, David and more. Simple Pleasures was originally released in 1990 but has been unavailable for the past 20+ years. We lovingly remixed and remastered all 12 tracks and had a blast revisiting everyone's performances from all those years ago. It was kind of like finding a musical time capsule!

The reissue comes out on August 9th and will be available on limited-edition black and white swirl Vinyl, CD and as a digital album. The CD and DL versions also include the demos that landed Alison her record deal with Vanguard Records. Richard Greene produced and played on those 3 tracks alongside David Grisman, Todd Phillips and Mike Marshall. The package includes archival photos and new liner notes from Alison, Mike Marshall, and engineer Dave Dennison. Alison wrote all of the music on the album, which includes the first recorded versions of some of her most well-known compositions: "Mambo Banjo," "Leaving Cottondale," "Wolf Moon," and "Weetabix."

We are offering special pre-release bundles, including a brand new Pick Banjo t-shirt, banjo cat caps in 4 new colors and a reprinted, spiral bound version of the Simple Pleasures tablature book. Check them out!
