Irish cinema impresario Mike Houlihan of Hibernian Media NFP announced today that their Monthly Movie Hooley will return to Chicago’s Gaelic Park on Saturday January 17th at 7pm with an exclusive screening of the black comedy Irish film.
REDEMPTION OF A ROGUE, which won Best First Feature and Best Irish Film when it premiered at the Galway Film festival a few years ago. Houli sez, “It’s a hilarious film that tells the story of bedraggled football star Jimmy Cullen who lost the big game for his home team when he flubbed guarding the goal.
Jimmy returns home after 7 years and things go from bad to worse. It’s biblical! And very funny.
My favorite scene is when the Blessd Mother mooches a cig from Jimmy during a visitation with him in church.”
REDEMPTION OF A ROGUE is part of Hibernian Media’s Monthly Movie Hooley which began in October, screening one sensational Irish film gem each month.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at the door or online at Gaelic Park.
The Monthly Movie Hooley is supported by Hibernian Media’s Irish American Labor Alliance of Plumbers, Carpenters, and Operating Engineers.
Join us on Saturday night Jan. 17th at 7PM in The Celtic Room for many laughs with REDEMPTION OF A ROGUE.
See you at the movies, Houli!
