Hibernian Media continues Monthly Movie Hooley Nov. 15 and 16th at Irish American Heritage Center and Gaelic Park

Closing out their 11th Annual Irish American Movie Hooley film festival in September at the Wilmette Theatre, Hibernian Media NFP proudly announced a new monthly film salon series which began in October with the help of Hibernian’s Irish American Labor Alliance.
The Monthly Movie Hooley will take place at the twin anchors of our Irish American community: The Irish American Heritage Center Mayfair Theatre and Chicago’s Gaelic Park. Both venues provide food and beverage service before the show as well as access to their bar during the screenings.

Mike Houlihan, Chairman of Hibernian Media, brings over 50 years of experience in the entertainment industry with him as he and his family will screen and promote a series of Irish and Irish American films each month in these twin locations. Houlihan sez, “One of the lessons we’ve learned over the years with our “Movie Hooley” is that there is no venue for Irish AMERICAN films to thrive and inspire Irish filmmakers as they create the masterpieces that will encourage their peers in cinema. We’re going to change that, with the help of our Irish American Labor leaders and new sponsors who recognize the need for a home for Irish AMERICAN filmmakers.”

On the weekend of November 15-16 the Monthly Movie Hooley will continue the series with the critically acclaimed film OUR IRISH COUSINS, screening on Sat. night 11/15 in the Mayfair Theatre at 8PM and Sunday evening 11/16 in the Tara Room at 5PM
Filled with Irish music and laughter, "Our Irish Cousins"  won rave reviews from Roger Ebert with three stars, and features many lrish musicians, comedians, and personalities, including 1953 Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Lattner, Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley, The Yiddish Sons of Erin, and a cast of thousands. P.J. O'Dea narrates the tale of "The Hooligan From Chicago" and has garnered three stars from RogerEbert.com. Houlihan sez, “We want to start by re-introducing myself to these great new Irish American audiences at Gaelic Park and Irish American Heritage Center.. We have a world class stable of Irish filmmakers who have joined our Hooley over the last 11 years joining us with this new Salon Series.”

The Monthly Movie Hooley is supported by Hibernian Media’s Irish American Labor Alliance of Local 130 Plumbers, Local 150 Operating Engineers, and The Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council. Stay tuned for ticket info or call the venues.
In December we will screen the crowd favorite OLDER THAN IRELAND!
See you at the movies! Houli
