The Noble Call with Paddy Homan Dec 18th as well - See info below - Buy Tickets Here!
The Irish Marching Society is FINALLY starting the school of Irish Dance which has been in the works for 2 years so here are the details.
We are partnering with McNulty School of Irish Dance and the Nordlof Center (part of Rockford Public Library) for Irish dance to be taught once again in Rockford. A flyer has been attached to explain the details of the Wednesday, December 8th free tryout lesson.
We have distributed the flyer to every public school parent and to private/charter schools who accepted the flyer. We plan to teach the new students enough dance to perform at our PaddyFest celebration in March 2022. Lessons will be given every Wednesday beginning January 12th until then.
We need 15 students minimum in order to sustain the cost of bringing out the dance instructors to Rockford. The IMS will rent the dance studio in the Nordlof Center and provide some of the basic uniforms required. The students will be responsible for the class fees which will range from $15-20/lesson depending on how many students we have. The school is also open to adults who have an interest as we will have a separate adult class after the student classes. Please pass this flyer along to potential dancers and register Here!
"Christmas Time in Ireland"
Paddy Homan and the Noble Call return December 18, 7pm with their holiday show exclusively for the IMS. Paddy has been here a handful of times in the past showcasing his talent as a premier Irish tenor and storyteller. To get an idea of his talent you can catch him on PBS with his performance called "I Am Ireland" that aired in March this year.
There have been some new faces added to the mix for our performance with an exciting young Irish dancer, Tadgh (pronounced like 'tiger' without the 'er') Spillane who began Irish Dancing at 6 years old and competed with the Lavin Cassidy School for 14 years. He won the 2014 and 2015 World Championships, and since has a total of 14 major championship titles to his name.
Seating at the Nordlof Center is about 250 and there is only ONE performance. Recall that the "Hometown Holidays" show sold out its final season performances in 2019.
We fully expect a sold out show as Rockford Public Library will also be promoting the show. You have a chance to buy your tickets early so don't wait! Tix Here! (face coverings will be required)
Lastly we are having a scheduling conflict on the St Patrick's Day Parade and PaddyFest. We will keep you posted when it firms up.
