We are raising funds for the upkeep and maintenance of the Sidella Greenway, a historically significant lane approximately 1.5–2km long that runs past the restored Dundalk Famine Graveyard. In the 1800s, this laneway was the route used for the procession of bodies from the Dundalk Workhouse to the paupers’ graveyard.
The Sidella Greenway is rich in wildlife and features St. Clare’s Well, a recently discovered holy well locally known for a historic cure. The success of this campaign will not only maintain this important amenity but also support efforts to maintain other local greenways.
Information about the fundraiser is available on the Dundalk Famine Graveyard Association website or directly on GoFundMe under “maintenance of Sidella Greenway at Dundalk Famine Graveyard.”
