Get ready to hit the pavement! The Beverly Area Planning Association (BAPA) invites runners of all ages and abilities to lace up to take on the 47th Ridge Run, Memorial Day, Mon., May 26. Whether you are aiming for a personal best or just in it for fun, this iconic neighborhood race has something for everyone—a 10K run, 5K run/walk, 5K/10K Challenge, and Youth Mile (Ages 6-12).
Long known as Chicago’s favorite neighborhood race, the Ridge Run winds through the scenic, historic streets of the Ridge Historic District, where enthusiastic spectators cheer on participants with water, words of encouragement, and unbeatable community spirit. Every race starts and finishes at Ridge Park, 9625 S. Longwood Dr., where the post-race festival will be in full swing with Kids Zone, food, drinks, and sponsor booths.
Honor & Celebrate on Memorial Day
The Ridge Run isn’t just about the race – it’s a day of remembrance and community. The Memorial Day Ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. at Ridge Park, honoring the brave men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice. Following the ceremony, the Beverly Hills/Morgan Park Memorial Day Parade will step off at 10 a.m. from 110th Place, led this year by The Veterans Assistance Commission of Cook County. The parade marches north along Longwood Drive, joining the Ridge Run post-race festival at Ridge Park.
The Beverly Area Planning Association’s iconic Ridge Run pace car, provided each year by Mike Haggerty Buick – GMC, will be waiting at the starting line at this year’s event on Memorial Day, May 26
