Regarding the Oval Office Meeting between President Trump and President Zelenskyy.

Today, in the Oval office of the United States White House, President Vladimir Putin was ever present in the collective (and justifiable) paranoia inside President Zelenskyy’s head and the (watching) TV body of the Ukrainian nation. President Zelenskyy was insistent on full 100 % security, certainly justified by Putin breaking treaties of 1994, 2014 and 2022, all with armed seizures of Ukrainian land by Russian armed intervention, most lately of it’s most important asset, the Crimea. As we all know President Putin, being the Devil that he is, a documented thief, murderer, poisoner and a liar. President Z’s fear of a renewed invasion by Putin after a new (and further) agreement to be signed, trapped him into not accepting a cease fire at this time.
When the Irish Republican Army’s (IRA) plight was that, after their defensive war against 800 years of British Military occupation was coming to a close in 1921, they could no longer fight on as they ere depleted in arms, militia, weapons and volunteers. The British High Command, led by Prime Minister Lloyd George, having had at least a thousand years of “global rule,” mostly by applying their highly successful “divide and conquer” strategy, told the Provisional IRA leader Eamonn De Valera that if there was to be a peace, the British were never going to surrender Belfast and the six northern counties, leaving the remaining 26 counties to the itinerant Irish. Therefore, De Valera sent Michael Collins, his war minister, to London to sign a treaty which immediately started a vicious civil war between half the country (that wanted to fight on against unwinnable odds) and the other half that were sick and tired of the killing and forced homelessness. Immediately the following civil war left the country divided geographically, politically and culturally divided to this very day. Obviously, Lloyd George and DeValera came out winners, with the latter becoming Prime Minister (An Taoiseach) of the newly formed Republic of Ireland. With the signing of the contentious treaty, Michael Collins was later assassinated by one of his own countrymen, a member of the opposition party, in his own native County Cork in the newly formed Irish Republic.
President Zelenskyy has now let his fears get the better of him and can now only call, from his own self-imposed position of weakness, for a ceasefire, which now puts him at the mercy of Trump and Putin. It may well be to his lifelong pain and regret, like Michael Collins, that he may have to now take what he is given, and we all pray that he does not suffer the same unfortunate consequences of his precedents.
