"The Irish Joni." – Michael Londra

Her two original records draw from deeply personal experiences, weaving stories of pain, longing, and desire. These songs have earned her comparisons to Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant, and Dolores Keane. Gráinne’s most recent album of original work, This Secret (2019), was recorded in Nashville with Grammy-nominated producer Thomm Jutz. The album’s poignant lyrics explore the scars of relationships, offering listeners an emotional release and a sense of healing through her music.

"A natural performer, Gráinne Hunt commands an astounding voice that will melt your heart. No crowd can resist." – Declan O’Rourke

Gráinne has shared stages with icons such as Glen Hansard and U2, and opened for legends including Gladys Knight, Mary Black, and Eagle-Eye Cherry. She has toured internationally, and in 2024, she showcased at Folk Alliance International before embarking on her first U.S. tour in April. Now holding the coveted O-1 visa, she is poised to continue building her presence in the United States over the next three years.

Beyond her solo work, Gráinne thrives in collaborative projects. As one half of the duo Gráinne and Brendan, she partners with guitarist Brendan Walsh to explore folk, classical, and traditional music. Their 2019 release, Songs From Ireland, is a celebration of these influences. She is also part of the folk duo Hibsen with Jim Murphy, whose album The Stern Task of Living (2023) draws inspiration from James Joyce’s Dubliners, earning critical praise for its literary depth and emotional resonance.
