MICHAEL PATRICK MORLEY
September 8, 1940 - June 18, 2022
Yesterday evening Mike went out for ice, in anticipation of our big Father’s Day celebration. He came home with 2 25lb bags. I brought one in and ran it down to the basement freezer. As I was coming up, I heard a shout. I ran out to find Mike lying on the sidewalk at the bottom of the front stairs, pulseless and unresponsive. I dialed 911 and began CPR. A neighbor heard my distress, came over and took over communication with EMS on my phone while I continued compressions & rescue breathing. Paramedics arrived quickly and Mike was transported to Loyola. They were unable to revive him. He had suffered a fatal head injury due to his fall. He will be missed by all who’ve known and loved him, his wife, his five children, his grandchildren, cousins, many dear friends and all his Irish American viewers and readers. RIP
Mike wrote for Irish American News for many years, and he also had his own Irish TV show.
