Hosted by James VanOsdol
Sharing Notes presents its inaugural Digital Salon, a free concert hosted by Chicago's legendary radio personality, James VanOsdol, on Sunday, September 20th at 3pm CST. This relaxed virtual house concert features a wide array of artists and genres -- from jazz to folk to rock to opera and classical.
Executive Director, Liz Burgess, says, "Sharing Notes is doing what we do best... bringing the joy and comfort of live music directly to the people whether you are in your living room, family room, back yard or hospital room. The Digital Salon will deliver beautiful, personal and engaging musical performances right to you. Experience for yourself what thousands of hospital patients across Chicago have enjoyed since 2012."
Sharing Notes is a non-profit whose mission is improving quality of life for Chicago hospital patients through intimate, engaging and uplifting live musical performances. When Covid-19 halted all hospital volunteer programs, Sharing Notes adapted to performing live, virtual bedside concerts 24/7 for patients in Chicagoland hospitals.
Digital Salon features accomplished artists including: Time For Three, Will Liverman, Sharon Shannon, Frank Catalano, Geno Lenardo, Rebecca Faber, Katie Grennan, John Williams, Rachel Gribben, David Curley, Cailtin Edwards and Zsolt Bognar.
The French word "salon" literally means "large room" -- and what larger room is there than a virtual living room! Music performed in the Digital Salon setting offers musicians and the audience a unique musical experience. It brings listeners and musicians together and creates a special intimate atmosphere in which to share music, all combined with a philanthropic intent to support the Sharing Notes.
Admission is free; the program will offer gift opportunities for guests who wish to further the mission of Sharing Notes. The Digital Salon is sponsored in part by William Blair and Susan & Nicholas Yasillo.
