•Founded in 2021, Cathal J. Ferris and Declan Curran met on a low budget feature film and had the same ideas to create and develop their own work.

•Cathal Ferris is a writer and performer who trained at Northampton University, School of the Arts. He is based in greater London and Belfast and can be seen touring his one man show ‘Drunken Lullabies’ which received 4 stars and The Edinburgh.
•Cathal is best known for his stage work and most recently performing ‘The Devils in the Chair’ at The Rose Theatre Kingston.
•Cathal can also be seen on screen in RTE’s ‘Treaty Live’ playing Eoin O’ Duffy and in Axa: The Joy of the Unexpected.
•Declan Curran is a writer and performer who studied drama at the university of west London. He is based in greater Belfast and can be seen in ‘Shine’ A short film he wrote / directed as well as playing the lead.
•Declan is best known for ‘Shine’ but also stars in ‘Shall We Sit’ and ‘Birthday’ which he wrote both.
•Declan’s career started in 2017 on stage in Willy Russell’s ‘Blood Brothers’ playing Edward and Maurice in ‘Our Day Out’ and can be seen in ‘Game of Thrones’ season 6. Declan is a keen horse rider and enjoys his long-distance running.
•We are a boutique production company based in Belfast working independently to create local work and support local talent. •FERRAN MEDIA was founded in 2021 by filmmaking partnership Cathal J. Ferris and Declan Curran. Our inaugural project, ‘SHALL WE SIT’, which tells the story of Niall a young who finally comes to terms with his illness, sets about revealing the news to those deemed closest in his life. •In February 2022, we completed our second short film, BIRTHDAY, this one shot short follows Jerry a troubled man aiming to change his community by any means necessary. Supported by The Arts Council of Northern Ireland BIRTHDAY is currently due for festival release from November 2022. Starring: Declan Curran (Shine / Shall we Sit) , Lalor Roddy (Grabbers / Hunger / The Devil’s Doorway), Shane McCaffery (Good Vibrations).
•Stray is a one man play written & performed by Cathal J. Ferris.
•This roller coaster ride of a satirical comedy about the personal, social and mental issues that get in the way of happiness. Cathal J. Ferris plays himself after 18 months of rehabilitation for a nervous breakdown and is introduced back into society and struggles with his age and how things have changed.
•Stray is the follow on to Cathal’s first one man show ‘Drunken Lullabies’ which toured the UK & Ireland as well as sold out shows and 4 star reviews at The Edinburgh
•Shine is an 18 minute short film written and directed by Declan Curran
•The dramatic tale tells the story of Nick, a young man who lacks confidence in expressing his dreams to his traditional family, and who is tasked with balancing his work life with helping his father on their family farm.
•Shine has won the following awards: Best Online Short, Underground Cinema, Dublin 2021, Best Actor in a Short, Cannes World Film Festival 2021, Best First Time Short, Cannes World Film Festival 2021, Best Acting Debut, Cannes World Film Festival 2021, IFTA Longlisted Short.
