The Irish American Heritage Center is on a roll when it comes to upgrading the facility. Earlier in the year, and with the help of a grant from the Irish government, a brand new sound system was installed in the 658 seat auditorium. The Irish government deserves a big thank you for this major upgrade that will help the auditorium become a world class music venue open to the arts, corporate meetings, concerts, political gatherings, film presentations and more.
Shortly thereafter, and with the benefit of a large donation, a brand new projector and screen were ordered for that same auditorium.
The Center wants everyone to know that the building is open to those who may want to rent one of the many rooms available for a party, or get together of almost any kind. On that note they have renamed the auditorium the Mayfair Theater after the neighborhood it is in and the school that it used to be before the Irish bought the building and brought it back to life over 40 years ago!
Now, with good management, fundraising, and several very successful events held at the Center, the Women's Restroom on the first floor is getting a long awaited and complete makeover.
Work started on July 10th, right after their annual Irish Fest, and it is scheduled to be completed in about six weeks.
