Research shows teenage girls suffer from low self-esteem due to pressure to fit in, the need to please others and difficulty trusting their own “voice.” Artemisia Summer Camp will give girls ages 12-18 a nurturing environment to boost their creativity and share their empowering stories. “Artemisia Girls Summer Camp is a perfect extension of our mission – to empower girls through theatre – and welcomes all to experience theatre as a way to gain confidence, self-awareness and share the magic of their creativity,” says Julie Proudfoot, Artemisia’s founder and Executive Artistic Director. Excellent classes culminating in a public performance will be taught by theatre artists Noha ElGanzouri, an actor who completed her theatre education degree in London, Steve Scott, who recently concluded a 37-year career with the Goodman Theatre, and Julie Proudfoot, an actor, director, and writer.

Artemisia Girls Summer Camp will be held July 9-14 from 1:00 to 3:30 pm at Oak Brook Park District Family Recreation Center, 1450 Forest Gate Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523, which features easy and safe pick-up and drop-off and parking. Price of enrollment is $225 before March 1st, and $250 after March 1st, per student.  Register your daughter now at http://artemisiatheatre.org/summer-camp/.  Enrollment is limited to ensure a quality experience for all students so early registration is strongly encouraged.
