Gaelic Park has been entering floats and participating in St. Patrick’s Day Parades for over 25 years and has received many awards and much recognition for the colorful and active presentations. 2016 was a special year for all Irish throughout the world as it commemorated one hundred years of Irish Freedom and the 1916 Easter Rising. To honor that occasion Gaelic Park constructed a special float and was honored to receive the 2016 Richard J. Daley Award - Grand Prize for Overall Excellence from the Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee.
This year is no different as Gaelic Park prepares to construct a new float and participate in four parades; Saturday March 4th is the Oak Forest Parade with a step off at 11am from 157th and Cicero. Saturday March 11th is Chicago St. Patrick’s Day Parade with a step off at 12:00 noon from Columbus Drive at Balbo, Sunday March 12th is the South Side Irish Parade with a step off at 12:00 noon from 103rd and Western Ave and Sunday March 19th is Downtown Tinley Park Parade stepping off at 2.00pm from 18146 S.
