"Leprechaun Leap" 5/8K Run &Walk
Portion of proceeds benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository
There's a wealth of Irish to go around a city like Chicago. For Windy City sprinters, add the annual "Leprechaun Leap" to the mix of Emerald Isle-loving festivities.
The 5 & 8K Run & Walk (until 2015 known as the St. Paddy's Run/Walk) returns for its 16th year on Saturday, March 11, at Cannon Drive and Fullerton in Lincoln Park. Start time is 9:30 a.m.
Participants are again strongly encouraged to use their imagination and don green attire. (St. Patrick's Day is officially Friday, March 17.)
In addition to a portion of proceeds benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository, participants are also encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the event as a donation.
Advance registration for the 5K is $35-40 (race day is $45). For the 8K it's $45-50 (race day is $55).
