As you may know I co-created, wrote/narrated and starred in a film about my journey in New York called Home.
It was made with no funding or resources and I ended up getting stars such as: Liam Neeson, Mike Myers, Woody Allen , Susan Sarandon, Rosie Perez, Frank McCourt, Alfred Molina.
Home went on to play across America on PBS, Premeire at Lincoln Centre and all around the world.
In 2009 Home went on to be nominated for 3 Emmys and I won an Emmy for 'Best Outstanding Writing for a Documentary.' You can see all the details of awards and cast on www.homethemovie.com.
Now I am embarking on a new exciting project. I am going to create an epic visual poem about Ireland. The project is titled 'THE SPIRIT OF IRELAND' (copyright Alan Cooke 2010) . It will be an uplifting and emotional tribute to the meaning of being Irish and the impact we have made around the world. I hope as well as interivewing all types from across the land to also get some very notable names involved to talk on camera about their own thoughts and feelings about Ireland.
I am doing this alone and with no backing as of yet. I am looking for sponsors from all walks of life to help to make this dream a reality. I believe this film will have a huge impact in Ireland and around the world like HOME
