The Carraig Pub at Gaelic Park, 6119 West 147th Street in Oak Forest will host a St. Baldrick’s Foundation fundraiser on Saturday March 2nd, 2019 starting at 3:00 PM. This year Gaelic Park is proud to partner with Julia’s Legacy of Hope Hero Fund. At the age of 16, Julia Janes was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma. She battled and fought the disease and was looking forward to college. In December of 2012 she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia secondary to Ewing Sarcoma. Again she battled and fought but sadly she lost her battle in November 2013 at the age of 20. Julia said “no child should ever have to go through what I experienced” and now her family honors her with Julia’s Legacy of Hope.
All donations benefit the fight against children’s cancer. More than 30 St. Baldrick’s volunteers, sponsored by donations from friends and family register each year for the Gaelic Park event and shave their heads in solidarity for children with cancer. To register or make donations for the Gaelic Park head shaving event.
